Mountain bike trail construction.

We design and build mountain bike trails across every discipline, from cross country and enduro through to downhill, and at every scale from a single descent to a 60 kilometre network. Trails are built to a difficulty rating, and built to still hold that rating several seasons later.

BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED

Designing for all abilities.

We build a range of trail styles, from green through to black. Alignment, drainage and feature placement decide whether a rider progresses or comes unstuck, and all three get set at design stage.

A network needs entry level trails that don’t intimidate new riders, and descending trails with enough progression to hold experienced ones. Most of our sites need both.

WATER MANAGEMENT

Drainage and repair.

Most trail maintenance is water management that wasn’t done at build. We shape grade reversals, manage sheet flow and build surfaces that shed water.

At Atherton, we repaired the blue trails after Tropical Cyclone Jasper, reinstating them to their intended Trail Difficulty Rating and making them more resilient so the network needs less work next time. At Mt Buller, the descending trails had eroded and grown over a decade, so the job was drainage, grade reversals and reshaping berms and features to promote flow.

Trail safety audits.

Councils and land managers carry a duty of care for the trails on their land. Trails wear, and they drift from the difficulty rating they were signed off at.

We audit existing networks against their rating, identify the sections and features that no longer match, and set out what needs changing.
